Meet Mary: A longtime patient of Dr. Brian Vickaryous

I would like to start sharing our story with you from the very beginning, how we were first introduced to Dr. Brian Vickaryous.
In 2010, my husband Pete fell off a ladder onto hard concrete. We rushed him to the hospital, where Pete had to undergo emergency surgery to repair his shattered elbow. We met Dr. Hawks, a very pleasant doctor, at the hospital in Orlando, FL, and he worked in Orthopedic Traumatology alongside Dr. Vickaryous.
Around the same time, I started having more and more pain in my joints, and I was introduced to Dr. Vickaryous.
From there, Dr. Vickaryous replaced both of my shoulders, he replaced my right hip in 2016 and my left knee in 2017. All major joint replacement surgeries, which Doctor Vickaryous perfected wonderfully.
Unfortunately, in 2017 I was in a head-on car collision and taken to Sanford Hospital for more orthpedic surgeries due to the accident. I was not thrilled with the orthopedic on staff there, and followed up with Dr. Vickaryous afterwards. He had to redo parts of the surgery, he also performed a few other procedures.
More problems occured and I followed up with the hospital's Orthopedic Traumatology department. I was heartbroken to learn that Dr. Vickaryous was no longer there at the hospital, and was not sure what I was going to do. I was devastated. He is the best!
I went on a quest to find him, and was not giving up until I would have found him. So, I started calling around and also checked with an acquaintance I knew from the hospital. I never stopped my search for him, until one day my online research brought me to Facebook and I found his page.
I can not tell you, how happy I was to have finally found Dr. Vickaryous again. The excitement in my voice when I started calling out for my husband sounded so elevated and emotional, that my husband Pete thought something happened. I shared the great news with Pete "I just found Dr. Vickaryous, he is joining Greater Orlando Orthopedic Group", and we are both absolutely thrilled to have Dr. V back in our lives again.
I would travel the world for him, that is how much confidence we both have in him.
I have referred Dr. Vickaryous to so many people - friends, family and many others - that I know would benefit from his outstanding surgical expertise. Many of them had surgeries with Dr. Vickaryous already, and were also very happy with their experience and surgery outcome.

I had a lot of knee pain that wouldn’t get better no matter what treatments I did so I did a total knee replacement with Dr. Hudanich and it was a great experience. After 6 weeks in I was walking like normal and now after two months I’m doing so well! I would recommend him very much and if you want a great Doctor and a great experience, look no further. Excellent, caring surgeon. In my case, inserted a plate to repair a broken ulna sustained in a sports accident. Repair was to my dominant arm and it had good functionality after 2 weeks, healed in 6-8 weeks, and returned to fully normal function within about 6 months. His background in PT really helped accelerate my ROM recovery in follow-up appointments.

Dr. Vickaryous did a fantastic job on my elderly mother's broken kneecap, after she was in an accident. In fact, she never once had ANY pain in her leg after the surgery, or during her time in rehab. Quite amazing. Highly recommend and thankful he was the one to perform the surgery.

We were so lucky to find “The BEST” surgeon in Central Florida to do hip replacement surgeries. The pandemic pushed my husband’s surgery back a year and he ended up in a wheelchair unable to walk. Dr. Hudanich said these were the worst hips he’d ever seen. He did BOTH hips 3 months apart; the last one the end of July 2021. On my husband’s birthday (Nov 4th), he danced the whole night practically non-stop with no problems! Very seldom you’ll find a surgeon with the kind of care, concern, and skill the caliber of Dr. Hudanichs. He is all about his patients needs and concerns and spends as much time with you as needed to answer ALL your questions; so your mind is at ease and you are ready for that new hip! Dr. Meuret repaired my broken elbow, which included hardware installation. Afterward, the Occupational Therapists admired his handywork. They told me that it was a difficult procedure done well. I have full range of motion and little post-surgery pain. Thank you, Dr. Meuret.
